LP Online™ Quick Start Reading is generally recommended for those working with students in pre-school through 1st grade (roughly ages 3-6). This program equips participants with strategies and tools to work effectively on building reading skills for learners with Down syndrome in home and school settings. It consists of four instructional modules delivered through weekly lives, on-demand sessions, with access to handouts, demonstration videos and level-appropriate resource recommendations. It also provides participants with opportunities for individual and group interactions and access to a dedicated Facebook group.

Description
Quick Start Reading is literacy-focused and delivered at a quicker pace than The Learning Program Online Level 1, though its content is also in LP Online Level 1. Quick Start Reading is generally recommended for those working with students in pre-school through 1st grade (roughly ages 3-6) or students who need introductory support in learning to read (e.g., sight word acquisition, phonemic awareness, sentence building and personalized resources). Sessions are geared towards parents, but are open to administrators, teachers and therapists. Quick Start Reading includes 4 modules with accompanying handouts, instructional videos, resources and links. There will be weekly Zooms for instruction and Q&A time, as well as activity demonstrations.
