November’s LP Focus

November 2017 – This month Pre-K and Level 1 classes focus on creating an effective home-based learning environment. Choosing goals, setting the stage for success and tracking progress are all components of effective at-home learning. Upper level classes take the theme of effective learning and apply it to curriculum and assessment. We want learners exposed to rich and challenging subjects, but they may need accommodations or modifications for meaningful access. This session focuses on the topic of adaptations with examples of changes that can be made to resources used in language arts, math, science and social studies. We also discuss effective environments and instruction.

At DSF, we have much for which we are grateful – dedicated staff and volunteers, engaged parents and teachers, and, of course, hardworking students.

               Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
