February’s LP Focus

February 2018 – This month our Pre-k and Level 1 classes focus on legal rights related to placement decisions and the educational options of public school (general education and special day class), private school and homeschool. There are pros and cons to each setting, so it is important to actively consider each option and the differences between them before you walk into your learner’s first IEP. By the time most students are in Levels 2, 3, or 4, their parents understand educational placement options, so this month’s upper levels focus on strategies to enhance the educational experience. By examining how to engage on the campus and in the classroom, communicate with and support staff, and make sure your learner is able to communicate with his or her team, you can improve your learner’s education.
